Reposting is one of the flagship features in the new design, allowing you to post another user’s content into your own stream, increasing the potential for discovery by other SoundCloud users. Similar to a ‘retweet’, where you share another user’s Twitter post in your own feed.

The biggest part of the SoundCloud’s redesign, and a critical part of almost any social platform (the ability to repeat another user’s social object into your own stream). Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook… and now Soundcloud have this ability to re-share.

(Notably, Instagram does not have the ability to reshare-inside-stream. This is one of a couple things that I think keep it punching below its weight compared to other platforms with fewer users.)

The SoundCloud Player in expanded tweets on Twitter.com is here, sorta.

On June 12th, SoundCloud and Twitter announced that a SoundCloud player would be coming soon to expanded tweets. Just as YouTube URLs in tweets reveal a neat little player right on the page, the announcement suggested that soon (“rolling out”) SoundCloud URLs would enjoy the same convenience. (And yay! Coz we all know we do the YouTube-to-play-a-song-hack. SoundCloud in Twitter would make stuff way easier.)

And yet, over a month later + I hadn’t seen a single SoundCloud URL reveal a View Media annotation.

This morning I was driven to do a test tweet and ask my twitter buddies to tell me if it a SoundCloud player showed up in *their* client. It didn’t work for anybody.

I concluded that the player just wasn’t cooked yet.

An hour after my failed SoundCloud URL, M.I.A. tweeted a new remix. On one of my Twitter accounts, the SoundCloud player showed up for the first time! Awesome!

Still, on my other accounts, it’s just not showing up.

Nada.

So yeah… “rolling out.” (I say it started today.)
